To sales of things that are not yeat set up in the system consider MISC item(s).

 

Set up a MISC Items

 

MISC is an item record used to sell things that are not in the system. It is set to stop on Price, and to not Merge Scan. It is a member or the Miscellaneous Department.

 

If you have a lot of items that are not in the inventory file you may want to set up a MISC item for each department. Then miscellaneous sales will be departmentalized. This is a good way to start using Acme while you build your inventory database. MISCPRODUCE, MISCMEAT, MISCSERVICE
 
You may also want to consider setting us MISCTAXABLE and MISCNOTAX items and perhaps MISCSNAP, MISCNOSNAP to properly handle special item types.
