Prior to taking down the old workstation, go into Acme and click >File >Activation. Make a note of your Serial Number and then click the DEACTIVATE button.

 

IMPORTANT: During the installation process you will be asked two questions.

 

1)where to put Acme: c:\acmepos

2)where to put the Database Folder: - make sure to enter full path to the existing Acme data folder on your server. UNC is preferred.
UNC example \\servername\sharename\data\  
Mapped Drive example s:\data\

 

 

After installing, launch Acme and go into POS Terminal setup. Select appropriate POS terminal record and click the BRAND THIS COMPUTER button. Then configure any peripheral devices like receipt printers, cash drawers etc.

 

You may also need to reinstall electronic payment processing gateway software and the Acme Data Pump. If you install the Data Pump and use a host accounting system you will may need to reconfigure the pump, Inquire for details.

 

If you do not know where you Acme data resides, log into a working Acme and click >Help >About >File Paths tab. Make a note of your "shared data path". Your data folder is the last folder listed in your Shared Data Path.
