In Acme, click >Maintenance >Sales Tax Setup >Edit button

 

 

Set Sales Tax Type to Single, enter appropriate State, Description and Tax Rate.

 

Sales Tax Cap allows you to enter the maximum amount that should be collected on an individual ticket. Acme also has the ability to impose caps by sales tax class and local, see Sales Tax

 

Click "Close" when finished entering your tax rate.

 

1.If you haven't already, set up you walk-in (cash)  customer by clicking >Customer >Customer. Ensure the customer is NOT set up as Tax Exempt.

2.Click >Maintenance >POS Terminal Setup and ensure the Sales Tax Location is same as the State you entered above AND set "Default Customer Code" to match the walk-in customer you entered above.

3.Set up at least one taxable item.

4.Test the sales tax setup from within Ticket Entry.
