In the Data Pump click >Utilities Tab >Tune-up Database
Always back up your data prior to tuning it up. You must be the only user logged into Acme to perform this function.
This process re-indexes select database files and can potentially speed up data access. It can also resolve data inconsistencies.
Database indexes are somewhat like indexes in a book in the sense that both are used to help locate something. While indexes are updated automatically during normal use, this utility allows you to re-index manually and it permanently removes deleted records from the database tables.
If you experience data inconsistencies due to network or power failures running this process can help. "Backup and Tune Up" is the often the first response and answer to many technical support issues. But if you find you must tune up on a regular basis to fix data problems you should have your network checked by a professional.
Clear Unique ID's -When central sends to satellites the unique ID’s are recreated in Central (if they don’t already exist) and included in the transfer tables.
Stores assign unique ID’s if a record that does not have one is edited, and when a new record is created.
Clear Links to Host -Clears out the host keys. Import form host to attempt to re-align the keys. -Useful in legacy hosts where surrogate keys are not used for item code, customer code, etc.
