If configured for USB cable the Verifone device driver must be installed on the computer before you plug in the payment terminal.

 

Once the payment terminal is plugged into the computer the Device Manager will list it as MX Family POS Terminal or USB Serial Device and show you which COM port should be associated with the terminal in Acme POS Terminal Setup.

 

 

To set the P400 to use Serial communications...

 

On the P400, press the “1”, “5”, and “9” keys at the same time to open settings.

 

Select “Control Panel” (scroll down if needed by dragging your finger upward).

Select “Sysmode” .

 

The password can be any of these values, you will need to try each until you find one that works.

1.Select “supervisor” and type the supervisor password from list above, then press the ENTER (green) key.

2.Select Administration, then select Config Editor and “config.usr1”.

3.Select “sacom” by touching its current value. Then select Modify.

4.Type “COM1”.
To cycle through lower case, upper case, and number press the “#” key.

5.Press the “Enter (green)” key.

6.Select “sabaud” by touching its current value (scroll down if needed by dragging your finger upward). Then select “Modify”.

7.Type “115200” and press the “Enter (green)” key.

8.Press the “Cancel (red)” key 3 times to reach the Main menu. Then press EXIT and REBOOT.
