Click >Maintenance >POS Terminal Setup >Cash Drawer Tab
Use to configure cash drawer to open. These settings are used on all drawers, even those that plug directly into the Receipt Printer.
Important Notes:
1.Some drawers require different cables depending on the printer/drawer combination. (MMF and probably others)
2.Some cables can be installed backwards and will not work to open the drawer. Most cables are not reversible but if yours is, read cable labels carefully.
3.Some printers will not open the cash drawer if the pulse off time is zero, viz. Samsung. The off pulse actually grounds the solenoid insuring that it is closed.
Cash Drawer Active Y/N
Yes, if you would like Acme to open the drawer for you after each sale, or when user with privileges presses "No Sale" function key.
Port Settings
Click >Edit >Port Settings [...] >Port.
Select the port your Drawer is connected to. Choose from LPT (1 thru 3) or COM port (1-12).
Also set up specific baud rate, data bits, stop bits and parity if your Serial Port Cash Drawer requires.
Drawer A Kick Out
Enter the drawer specific code that Acme will send to the drawer. They are listed in order of popularity.
Sample 01: <esc>p<0><50><50>
Sends a pulse to drawer 0 for 50 (x2) Milliseconds, then send an OFF pulse for 50 (x2) Milliseconds.
Sample 02: <esc><bel><50><50><bel>
Sends an ASCII "Bell" character for 50 (x2) Milliseconds, then sends an OFF pulse for 50 (x2) Milliseconds, then the "Bell" character.
Sample 03: <esc><65><50><50><65>
Sends an ASCII "A" character for 50 (x2) Milliseconds, then sends an OFF pulse for 50 (x2) Milliseconds, then the "A" character.
This is more common on APG and MMF drawers.
Testing
To test most drawers outside of Acme you can send the BEL character to the port via the command prompt or batch file.
Some drawers require a command other than the BEL character, consult your drawer manufacturer for details.
echo bel >com3
if the drawer is on serial port 3.
or
echo bel >lpt1
for parallel port 1
Testing inside Acme is considerably easier.
Open Drawer A [button]
Use to test opening the drawer.
Testing Delay Interval -choose from 0, 2, 3, 4 or 5 seconds.
-Useful for Drawers connected directly to Serial Port. Has no affect on other drawers. Select a number greater than 0 and when you press the Open Drawer A [button] Acme will open the port to charge the drawer and count down the time until sending the open command to the port.
This delay is not used during Ticket Entry because the time to enter the ticket should be sufficient for charging the drawer.
