After a ticket is saved it cannot be edited. There are three methods that are commonly used for corrections...

Method 1: Enter a new ticket. Return items that were wrong and sell the items at the right price. If this results in a negative transaction either refund the difference or enter Received on Account as the last item to produce a $0 ticket.

If quite a few items are involved method 2 or 3 may be faster...

Method 2: Void and Re-enter. -works for any situation except tickets sent to Central Acme or posted to an accounting system, as those tickets can no longer be voided.

1.Make a note of the original ticket number that you need to fix. For example 1-01021

2.Use >Transaction >Void Ticket to void the ticket you need to fix.

3.Re-enter the ticket correctly. If you don't have the items gathered, you could run Acme Data Miner report >Acme Transactions >Ticket with Bar Codes and use it to scan the items onto the new ticket.

This method adds the items to the new tickets using system price for whichever customer you select.

If you cannot void the ticket because it was sent to a Central Acme or accounting system then use method 1 or 3.

Method 3: Double Reverse -works great, but only works if original ticket was not a house charge.

1.Make a note of the original ticket number that you need to fix. For example 1-01021

2.Use the Reverse Entire Ticket action key to reverse the original ticket. This creates a second ticket. Always use same customer and tender as original ticket. Make a note of this second ticket's number, for example 1-01022.

3.Use the Reverse Entire Ticket action key to reverse the ticket you created in step 2. This creates a third ticket. Clerk should select correct customer and make any needed corrections before saving this third ticket.

"Reverse Entire Ticket" adds the items to the new ticket using the previous ticket's quantities and pricing. The clerk should make changes to the third ticket as desired.

The customer account ends up with a complete audit trail consisting of 3 tickets.

1.bad ticket

2.ticket to reverse the bad ticket

3.ticket that is correct.
