Moves can involve programs, data or both. If your move will include both you should move data first (see next section) then move Acme programs.

If you are changing computers deactivate your serial number so you can re-use it on your new computer. Click >File >Acme Activation >Deactivate.  Make a note of your serial number so you can use it to activate your new computer.

If you have a single user Acme and your goal is to enable multiple users see Adding LAN Terminals

To move your Acme data to another location:

Click >File Administration >Change Shared Data Location

Enter new shared data path, then exit Acme. Repeat on all computers that run Acme, then move the data to the new share.

If Acme cannot find your data you may receive error of "loadacmeoptions" while launching Acme.

To remedy uninstall and reinstall Acme OR use REGEDIT to backup your registry and then edit both the local and shared data paths as needed:

Make sure you include trailing slash at end of path, for example:
c:\AcmePOS\

 s:\AcmeData\

on 32 bit machine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AcmePOS\Point Of Sale\System\Paths

on 64 bit machine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AcmePOS\Point Of Sale\System\Paths

Change the Local and Shared paths to match the new locations.

Acme Point of Sale is brought to you by Total BusinessWare Inc.
