During Ticket Entry press the function key titled New Customer (F4 by default) or F11 and the "New Customer" button.
then click the "Swipe or Scan Driver's License..." button.
Generally speaking 1D (traditional) bar codes will no longer work for this purpose. Scan the 2D code or swipe the magnetic stripe.
The data encoded in the swipe or scan is changing over time. 2D bar codes are replacing the magnetic stripes. It is best practice to test both methods in the states you do business, with ID's that have various issued dates.
•Magnetic Stripes often have name and address, but do not include zip code.
•2D codes usually have name and address, including zip code.
