The PT40 handles 4 tasks via two programs:

1.Lane Buster / Cruise Purchasing ( ht630pos.exe )

2.Receive Purchase Order / Physical Inventory ( ht630ain.exe )

Unitech's JobGen Plus and PTComm must be installed on all computers that will interface with the HT630. PTComm is used to communicate with the device during testing but it must be closed when using Acme to communicate with the device.

Windows 7 and 8 and 10, both 32 and 64 bit as of Acme build 778. Serial or USB devices are compatible, the USB model installs as a serial port and loads Windows drivers via Windows Updates.

Do not plug the device's USB cable into the computer until after you install PTComm.

If you experience trouble installing JobGen Plus on a touch screen computer that is operating in "tablet mode", take it out of tablet mode and try the installation again. You can put it back into tablet mode after the installation is complete.

1.Look in device manager and make a list of existing COM Ports.

2.Download and install JobGen Plus/PTComm combo from our support center. See list of acceptable paths below.

3.Reboot workstation after installation of PTComm.

4.Plug the device's USB cable into the computer.

5.Look in device manager to determine the number of the new COM Port.

Use PTComm to connect to the device. Do not tell PTComm it is USB device, as it has been installed with serial mode. Check boxes so PTComm auto-detects port settings and configure the device to transmit data at highest possible speed. See illustration below.

After clicking OK in above dialog, you should see a connection window with the detected baud rate and port number.
