PRE-Built Kits that have a List Price of $0 DO NOT stop and ask the clerk for for a price.

Built on the Fly kits have other pricing rules. See On the Fly Kit

Do not configure Kit items to "Stop on Qty". If 1 is not the typical quantity then use "Set Qty" before adding the item to the ticket or use "Change Qty" after adding the item to the ticket.

Kit Type -Choose from Non-Kit Item, Deposit, Single Add-on Item, Multiple Add-on Item.

oNon-Kit Item. This is the default setting. This item does not contain any Deposit or Add-on items.

oDeposit. Link any one Deposit Type inventory item with this item. Any time this item is sold the other item will be automatically pulled into the sale too.

NOTE: The only difference between Deposit and Single Add-on (below) is that you can only assign items marked as deposit type items as        an item deposit. This makes it easier to set up items when you have have of different deposit amounts.

oSingle Add-on Item. Link any one General Type item with this inventory item. Any time this item is sold the other item will be automatically pulled into the sale too. See note directly above.

The kit choice of “Prebuilt” and “On the Fly” determines when the components come out of inventory.

On the fly adjusts inventory during the sale/return.

Prebuilt assumes you build the kit prior to sale , and put it on the shelf to be sold later.

Prebuilt Kit - Link any number of General Type items with this inventory item.

Component on-hand quantities are not affected during Ticket Entry. The quantities entered into kit setup tab are solely for reference. It is assumed                you will take the components out of inventory when you build the kits and put them on the shelf for future sale. See example Prebuilt Kit.

Price comes from the kit item (finished good) not the components. For this reason, date driven Special Pricing works, as does Customer Pricing and                Quantity Pricing.

The components are visible when the kit is added to a ticket, but not after the kit is added to the ticket, this reduces clutter that could lead to confusion. You can control whether or not components appear on customer receipts, store receipts, pick tickets and invoices in >Maintenance > Acme Setup Information > Receipt Control.

Prebuilt kits DO NOT work with stored consignment items.

The Acme Data Miner includes a report called "Kits and List of Components BC". It produces a list of all component items and is intended for use as                a Pick List for staff gathering the components of Prebuilt Kits. See example Prebuilt Kit.

1.Print the pick list, then gather and bundle the items.

2.Enter a ticket for the  "PREBUILT KIT" customer. Sell the proper quantity of components and the return the proper quantity of finished goods. The sell price should be 0.00 if you set up PREBUILT KIT customer properly. See Store Use or Write Off

Assemble on the Fly aka Multiple Add-on Items. Link any number of General Type (including consigned) items with this inventory item.

Component on-hand quantities are affected during Ticket Entry, the finished good on hand quantity is not. It should not be changed from zero, since these kits are built as they are sold. See example On the Fly Kit.

Acme does not check for sufficient inventory for components to complete the sale, unless the kit uses consignment inventory.

Price for the kit is derived by summing the component prices assigned inside the kit. No other pricing methods are considered. Acme does not look to the the actual component items for pricing of Tickets. If the kit has a list price it is displayed during Ticket Entry and may print on receipts if your receipt style includes it.

Note, current Component List Price is displayed and summed in the item maintenance Kit Component grid, so you can easily reference it when setting up kit items. it is also visible is Ticket Entry, but not used for a selling price.

The item control setting of Stop on Quantity has no affect, Acme always stops on quantity for kits.

“Wait for Scale” or “Wait for Scale with Tare” constraints are IGNORED.

If a component is marked stop on price the action is ignored. No alert pops up.

On the fly kits are typically set up as non-stocking, but regardless of this setting Acme ignores the kit on hand record.
