Import Acme Point of Sale customers and tags into Outlook for personalized marketing.

 

Prerequisites: -You should already have Outlook operational should have already gone through the process to Export Customer / Contact Tags using the Outlook template.

 

Steps below are for Outlook 2013, other versions are similar. Consult Outlook program help for detail specific to your version.

 

Log into Outlook and on their menu click >File >Open and Export >Import/Export. -Choose import from another program of file and follow the on screen steps.

-follow the on screen steps. At any point you can press F1 on your keyboard to access Outlook help.

 

When asked for "file to import" click the Browse button and select the file you exported in the prerequisite step.

(unless you changed the default this is in your Acme data folder and the file name starts with "nexus...")

 

 

Important Tips

 

Turn on BCC and always add addresses to the BCC field. It would be a breach of privacy to show all your customers each other's address. Other CRM programs like Infusionsoft and Constant Contact take care of this for you but Outlook does not. See Outlook F1 help for details.

 

Create contact groups (formerly called a “distribution lists”) using the imported contact information. With a contact group you can send emails and meeting invitations to people without having to add each name every time.
