Much of the process is the same as returning "regular" items, with a few special considerations...

 

Item with a Scale Bar Code on It -When a customer returns a scale bar coded item the you should scan the bar code and CONFIRM PRICE PER POUND when prompted. Acme will determine the amount from the bar code and fill it in automatically.

 

If less than the original quantity is being returned scale the item and print a new label to scan.

 

On screen help prompts guide the clerk from the time they press F6 <return item> key.

 

Item that was weighed at point of sale
 
Customer has sales receipt.

 

1.Tap "Return Item" (or F6) the enter original receipt's ticket number or press ENTER.

2.Place item on scale and enter item's PLU*.

3.Edit price per pound if need be and if you did not enter original ticket number in step 1.

4.If this was a deli scale item, the PLU is the second through sixth digits on the scale bar code. If scale bar code is 21234541978 then digits 12345 are the item code.

 

 

Customer does not have sales receipt.

 

Place item on scale, or enter quantity being returned. Press F5 Set Quantity Key

Press F7 Return Item key

<Enter>  (to bypass entering Ticket Number)

Scan item being returned.

Edit the suggested dollar amount if necessary.
