Acme suggests a price for items being returned based on the following logic.

 

(Scaled items are handled differently. See below.)

 

If you enter the return item's ticket number (ticket number from the purchase) then Acme will use it to look up the price paid for the item. If the item is on the original ticket  more than once Acme uses the first occurrence. Acme stores the original price with the return ticket, even if the clerk over-rides it with a manual or discounted return price.

 

If no return ticket number is entered then Acme does a priority search and will suggest you refund the lowest price found in:

 

List Price

Customer's Price Code

Special Prices (past and present)

 

The clerk can over-ride the suggested price.

 

Acme does not validate quantity sold on the original ticket.
