To configure your scale click >Maintenance >POS Terminal Setup >Scale Tab

Select Scale connection Type -OPOS, Serial Port or None.
See Installing Scales for information on specific scale models.
Items to be weighed should be configures as "wait for scale" in Item Maintenance.
Tare -See "Item Control Wait for Scale with Tare" on the Inventory Maintenance General Tab.
Test Scale [button] -This allows you to test the device without completing a sale.
Scale Tips:
If you are going to sell items in fractional pounds ensure that their unit of measure and price is appropriate and that the Quantity Decimal Places setting on the POS Pricing, Quantity, Discount Options tab is set as desired.
Items can be set to "wait for scale" or "wait for scale with tare". The later assumes clerk will know the tare weight of the container being used so they can key it in during transaction entry.
The ZERO button on most scales cannot
If you don't have a scale that can "talk" to Acme you can simulate one and key in the weights. Simply create a file c:\AcmePOS\AcmePOSTest.ini with the following contents:
