Acme takes full advantage of your standard keyboard Function Keys (F-keys) and we do so in a manner that lends itself well to programmable keyboards as well.

Acme has an extremely powerful Ticket Entry process that can be run on a standard monitor with a standard keyboard and NO MOUSE NECESSARY.

Why are mice discouraged? We believe that data entry at a point of sale terminal should be largely a "heads down" task. Requiring an operator to reach for a mouse slows the lanes down, and also opens up the door for lost focus events.

A lost focus event is what happens when you try to type into one area of a program after accidentally placing the cursor (clicking) into another area. The user has lost focus of what he or she was doing. The computer has focus where the mouse was clicked last, not where the user wants to go.

Using a mouse forces the clerk to raise their head from the scanning process and their arm to the mouse and this invites lost focus events.

Most users find touch screens are faster than mice when standing at a point of sale terminal. This being said, all functions work with touch screen, mouse or function keys, so you can use whatever method YOU prefer.

If you do not have a mouse and you need to RIGHT CLICK on most touch screens you simply press and hold.
