To add a PLU to an item click >Inventory >Inventory >PLU Tab

PLU's are used in Item Maintenance and Ticket Entry. They are also used in various import processes as outlined below.

Ticket Entry (aka Transaction Entry)

Item Number or PLU can find an Item. The Selling Unit of Measure associated with the Item Number or PLU is used to derive the Quantity.

PLU - Bar Codes Tab in Item Maintenance

Item Number, PLU and many other methods can be used to find an item.

-

Import Cruise Purchasing (file on drive) into PO Worksheet.
Acme expects Item Number in the incoming data. The Quantity should be in Stocking Units.

If you are using the Acme mobile app or Portable Data Collector you can enter PLU or Item Number, the associated item number will be used in the CSV file, and it will be factored accordingly.

Import Purchasing Spreadsheet

Acme expects Item Number in the incoming data. The Quantity should be in Purchasing Units. Limitation to Item Number is not an issue if the source of the sheet is Acme itself but it IS a big deal if the sheet comes from the vendor, only includes UPC and the store does not use UPC as item number. If that's the case consider Import Cruise Purchasing instead.

-

Receive Purchase Order Import PO Receiving from CSV.
Acme can use Item Number or PLU, but any any UOM attached to a PLU is ignored, so the Quantity should be in Stocking Units.

Receive Purchase Order Import PO Receiving from Data Collector.
Acme can use Item Number or PLU, but any any UOM attached to a PLU is ignored. During import the user gets to choose to use Stocking or Purchasing Unit of Measure.

Note: If you do not enter cost on the portable, and do not wish to split batches by stocking or purchasing UOM there is a work around. Instead of using the "Receive PO" program on the portable and "Import from Data Collection Terminal" use "Scan Items with Quantity" on portable and "Import Receiving CSV" in Acme. The custom routine that copies the file from portable to computer converts all quantities into stocking units, so factored PLU's work as expected.

Physical Inventory Import Physical Inventory from CSV.
Acme can use Item Number or PLU, but any any UOM attached to a PLU is ignored, so the Quantity should be in Stocking Units.

Physical Inventory Import Physical Inventory from Data Collector.
Acme can use Item Number or PLU, but any any UOM attached to a PLU is ignored, so the Quantity should be in Stocking Units.
