Click >Transaction >Start Acme Point of Sale Ticket Entry
This topic is not going to expose you to everything transaction entry can do. these are just some of the more common functions.See Ticket Entry Function Keys for more information.
On the Ticket Entry Screen...
Customers -Use Acme Default Customer (Customer name is shown at top of Ticket Entry screen)
-or- >F3 Select Customer. Notice the on screen prompt changes from Ready to scan item... to Enter Customer Number or Phone Number...
If you do not know customer number or phone number Press F2 >List for a pop up list of customers to choose from or >F2 List twice to use search capabilities.
See Finding Customers During Ticket Entry for details.
-or- >F4 Add New Customer to add a new customer "on the fly".
see Add Customer During Ticket Entry
>F3 Customer and >F4 New Customer can be used any time the ticket entry screen status is "Ready to Scan Item" and also be used from the Ticket Tender screen.
Acme allows you to track sales by customer, do in-house charges, check for tax rate, delivery addresses, credit limit, customer specific pricing and more.
You can actually select the Customer at any point during a transaction and Acme will re-price and recalculate tax according to your selection.
Items -Scan ONE of an item any time the on screen help reads "Ready to scan item..."
To sell MORE THAN ONE of an item
Scan the item multiple times or enter the quantity and press >F5 Quantity, then scan the item.
Change the Quantity of an item. If you need to add to the original number, you can scan the additional items and they will be merged with the existing quantity or added as another line item depending on your Merge Scan settings.
If you wish to change (edit) a quantity you could do so with any of three functions.
-Change Quantity (enter a new quantity that replaces the highlighted quantity)
-Plus 1 (each time the function key is pressed the quantity goes up by one.)
-Minus 1 (opposite of Plus One)
Note, PLUS 1 and MINUS 1 are not assigned to primary function keys in the default layout, this can easily be changed if you think they are functions you will use. See Ticket Entry Function Keys for assistance.
Another option would be to void the line that has the wrong quantity and re-enter the data.
For items you cannot scan use the LIST or FIND buttons.
Weigh an item (on an attached scale) -Place the item on the scale and enter the item's PLU.
Scan Weigh Scale Bar Codes -Scan Scale Bar Codes any time Acme is "Ready to scan item..." -see Scale Bar Codes and Scale (setup).
